Join FSC Canada Board of Directors and staff for a chance to hear exciting updates about the past year, network with other FSC members and vote on key decisions for the year ahead
- General Assembly Preparations (members only) 10:00-12:00
FSC members are fundamental to the organization and its vision. Diverse economic,social and environmental interests share decision-making authority, bringing integrity and resilience to the FSC system. FSC’s International General Assembly, held every three years, is the highest FSC platform for decision-making and is taking place this year from October 7-13 in Vancouver, BC. In preparation for the General Assembly we welcome members from Canada to gather together and discuss key motions that have been proposed.

As we approach the final stages of FSC Canada’s Forest Management Standard revision process, we encourage members and stakeholders to join us in reviewing the proposed changes, including a review of intact forest landscapes; woodland caribou; free, prior and informed consent; and Indigenous Cultural Landscapes. Provide your input and join the discussion to build momentum for the transition towards the new Forest management standard

- Aboriginal Rights, FPIC, and Indigenous Cultural Landscapes (open to all) 13:00-17:00
Learn more about FSC Canada’s approach to Aboriginal rights; Free, Prior and Informed Consent; and Indigenous Cultural Landscapes in our draft Forest Management Standard. This session will provide an overview of proposed indicators, what the changes will mean to current practices and what to expect in the upcoming months.

During our Annual General Meeting Members will be asked to formally vote on a few things, including:
- Motion to approve the minutes of the 2016 Annual General Meeting.
- Motion to approve the auditors report for fiscal year 2016[
- Motion to appoint Cowperthwaite Mehta as the auditors for the fiscal year 2017.
To pass these motions, members that are not attending in-person need to select a proxy for their vote. You can nominate any member of FSC Canada, that is attending the AGM, to represent you. If you don't know who to choose, you may select the secretary of the board.
Without you, the vote will not be complete. FSC Canada's voting system requires that 50% of each chamber submit their vote in order to have a result. Members can use the registration and proxy forms sent by email or use the forms on this page.
