FSC Canada Update on the Transfer of FSC Certified Forest Management Tenures in Quebec

TreesCommencing April 1st, 2013, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Wildlife (MRNF) in Quebec will be taking over responsibility for the forest management of public lands in Quebec. Roughly 25 million hectares of those lands are currently FSC certified.  The MRNF has clearly stated its intention to maintain all FSC FM certificates that are in place by the end of 2012. read more …

Update on FSC Principles & Criteria Revision

In 2008, FSC International initiated the process of revising the FSC Principles and Criteria (P&C). Draft D4-0 of the revised FSC P&C will be finalized in March 2011 and published during the last week of March, along with a summary of comments and responses as well as other supporting information. FSC will also publish a survey to members regarding the final draft of the P&C in advance of the final vote.  read more …

The FSC trademarks are the primary communication tool for organizations seeking to communicate responsible sourcing of forest products or wishing to promote good forest management standards.
