FSC Canada is at its final stage in the development of a streamlined standard for smallholders and community forests based on FSC’s new National Forest Management Standard. From May to July 2020, FSC Canada hosted a second 60-days public consultation and tested draft 3 of the standard. Our aim with testing was to critically and objectively evaluate the possibility of conformance and implementation of the proposed Draft 3 indicators by small woodlot owners and community forests managers.
FSC Canada is pleased to release a summary report with comments received during the second public consultation and results of testing draft 3 indicators. The report will be used by the Standard Development Group to assist in drafting the final version of the Standard prior to its submission to FSC International for approval.
