Over this past summer, zoo visitors were challenged to become a Guardian of the Wild and take action in their daily lives. They were tasked with visiting the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Action Station in Panda Park, where they could find out how to be forest friendly simply by choosing products with the tree-check mark logo.

The zoo saw over 17,000 participants who encouraged consumers to use their shopping power to help forests and the animals that inhabit them.

The news comes just before FSC announced its partnership with the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA), a global alliance of more than 400 leading zoos and aquariums in over 50 countries, to develop a global framework aimed at creating a more sustainable world through responsible forest management.
