According to the general contractor, Aecon Group, the curved laminated black pine timber structural elements are FSC-certified and manufactured by FSC-certified Nordic Engineered Wood company.
Located in the UN award-winning community of Oujé-Bougoumou, the architecture of Aanischaaukamikw is based on the sabtuan, a traditional Cree community building built in wood and clad in animal skins.
