Beginning in April 2013, FSC Canada hosted seven in-person regional workshops across Canada including sessions in British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. As part of the Forest Management Standard Revision Process, the aims of the workshops were to:

  • Exchange information and discuss FSC Canada’s Standards Revision Process;
  • Identify key indicators that require further discussion and expert input;
  • Review and discuss International Generic Indicators (IGIs);
  • Identify discrepancies with provincial regulations (key indicators survey, regional meetings);
  • Seek input on parts of the draft National Standard and methodology.

For FSC Members and stakeholders who were unable to attend the in-person sessions, FSC Canada will be hosting a series of webinars to discuss the objectives mentioned above.

FSC Canada will use the input collected from surveys, workshops and webinars to develop documents related to regional issues and indicators, and in turn, these will be used to focus regional and national discussions that will commence in the fall and winter.
