Earlier this month, FSC Canada proudly participated in Buildex Vancouver (February 11th to 12th) - Western Canada’s largest conference and exhibition connecting more than 8,000 professionals across design, construction, and real estate. This annual event continues to be an important opportunity for FSC Canada to engage directly with the people shaping the future of Canada’s built environment.
For the second consecutive year, FSC Canada exhibited within the WoodWorks Canada pavilion, a dedicated space celebrating solid wood building solutions and showcasing the potential of sustainable materials in modern construction. Alongside more than 30 other companies, FSC’s presence sparked large interest resulting in many meaningful conversations with architects, developers, environmental consultants, Indigenous advisors, and reclaimed wood suppliers.
Each discussion represented a step toward transforming how Canada builds. From new partnership opportunities to collaboration prospects in architecture, circular design, Indigenous partnerships, and green development, these conversations reinforced the growing desire to connect sustainability standards directly with the responsibly sourced forest-based materials that shape our communities.
The show also featured unique seminars and presentations, such as the “From Forest to Form” seminar, where leading voices such as BC’s Chief Forester and ZGF Architects explored the future of mass timber in architecture. ZGF’s Ayme Sharma underscored FSC’s leadership by highlighting FSC certification as the gold standard for credible, responsible forestry - a point that stood out clearly among industry peers.
Participating in Buildex Vancouver is about more than visibility. It’s about influence. As Canada’s construction industry embraces mass timber and other forest-based materials at new scales, FSC certification ensures that this progress happens without compromising forest ecosystems, Indigenous rights, or social sustainability. Our presence at events like Buildex helps weave those values directly into the design and construction dialogue—so that every project, from residential projects to major developments, reflects the principles of forests for all, forever.
Thank you to our partners for helping amplify FSC’s message at Buildex. Together, we’re strengthening the bridge between Canada’s forests and our future skylines.
