Rainforest Alliance is offering an intensive three-day course in late January (precise place and date TBD) in the Toronto area. The course is designed to orient participants to auditing protocols and to obtain a detailed understanding of the FSC standard requirements.

Participation in the course will be beneficial for employees of FSC-certified operations responsible for implementing CoC requirements, consultants working with FSC-certified operations, and stakeholders involved in or affected by FSC CoC certification.

Participants will receive the following: a wealth of knowledge on the certification industry and the history and structure of FSC and Rainforest Alliance; an understanding of FSC Chain-of-Custody and Controlled Wood requirements; an introduction to auditing practice based on ISO requirements; and practical experience evaluating conformance with FSC Chain-of-Custody requirements in collaborative team-based assessment and analysis. This workshop is also an excellent opportunity to network and build bridges with other professionals in the world of wood and paper products and FSC CoC certification.

This course fulfils FSC’s ISO training requirements from the following:

  • FSC-STD-20-001, Annex 2, section 1.2;
  • Latest draft of FSC-STD-40-003 V2-0 D2-0, 5.1.4 for internal auditors of certificates with more than 20 participating sites.
