JLR (FSC™ N004537) will be the first automaker to roll out tires made with more than 70% renewable and recycled materials, including FSC™-certified natural rubber, silica from rice husks, plant-based resins, recycled steel, and recovered carbon black.
Developed with Pirelli (FSC™ N003618), the new P Zero tires will debut this year on select New Range Rover models with 22" wheels before expanding across JLR’s brands. The innovation builds on JLR’s 2024 commitment to adopt FSC-certified natural rubber tires across its portfolio, supporting sustainable forestry and responsible sourcing.
Pirelli first introduced FSC-certified natural rubber tires in 2021, and by 2026, all natural rubber in its European factories will be FSC-certified. Both companies share the ambition of eventually producing tires entirely from renewable and recycled materials.
JLR’s Sustainable Industrial Operations Director, Reuben Chorley, said: “Achieving a more sustainable composition without compromising quality and performance is a challenge, but working with Pirelli we have delivered an industry first.”
