FSC to strengthen credible claims

In response to growing attention on how environmental claims are used in the market – and in the context of evolving global anti-greenwashing legislation – FSC has conducted a comprehensive review of our trademarks and claims system.

As a result, FSC is taking two important actions to improve brand management and ensure clear, consistent communication:

  • The 'Forests For All Forever' (FFAF) brand mark will be phased out for all licence holders.

  • Promotional panel designs will be removed for Promotional Licence Holders (PLHs). PLHs will still be able to promote with the FSC logo, but not with the promotional panel predefined design.

Implementation timeline

For certificate holders, the phase-out will be implemented in the upcoming FSCSTD50001, scheduled for publication in January 2026.

  •

For promotional licence holders, the changes will be reflected in the FSC Trademark Use Guide for Promotional Licence Holders, expected mid 2026.

  •

Webinars for licence holders

To support stakeholders through this transition, FSC hosted two webinars (in English and Spanish) to help licence holders learn more about the changes, timelines and support available. If you missed these webinars, you can view the slides from the presentations.

FSC Canada will provide further communications and webinar opportunities in the coming weeks.
