On 4 November 2015, the Policy and Standards Director of FSC International Center approved a revised FSC Directive on FSC Controlled Wood (FSC-DIR-40-005), to standardize understanding and implementation of the requirements of the Standard for Company Evaluation of FSC Controlled Wood (FSC-STD-40-005 V2-1), to ensure it is in line with the rest of the FSC normative framework.

All stakeholders are invited to comment on the first draft of the revised STD-50-001 by 31 January 2016.

To address Policy Motion 65 of the 2014 general assembly, a technical working group (TWG) will develop good practice guidelines for maintaining and protecting high conservation values (HCVs) in FSC-certified forests –including intact forest landscapes (IFLs)– that have particularly great importance for social or environmental reasons.
