Over the past few weeks, FSC Canada released draft 2 of the national forest management standard as well as 3 accompanying documents for public consultation:

We encourage all interested parties to review these four documents and provide written comments during the consultation period which ends on February 17 2017.

In order to assist your review of the draft National Forest Management Standard, we have created a set of tools and resources:

  • Draft 2 Summary Report: outlines the process used to develop Draft 2 indicators, highlights the changes between Draft 1 and Draft 2, and addresses frequently asked questions related to Draft 2 and the standard development process.
  • “Forest Talk” Information Videos: an information series to help you walk through proposed changes and updates to the draft National Forest Management Standard
  • Info-Sheets: a series of documents that provide background on the development of certain indicators and insight into key concepts and proposed approaches.

To access these, scroll down to the ‘Tools and Resources’ section on our Forest Management Standard Revision webpage.

To assist you further, FSC Canada staff will be hosting online Question & Answer sessions regarding Draft 2.
