Since 1966, the US National Wildlife Federation – a member of the Forest Stewardship Council environmental chamber based in the United States, with more than four million members of its own – has honored individuals and organizations with its National Conservation Achievement Award, known as the ‘Connie’. Designed to recognize outstanding contributions to protecting wildlife, previous honorees include film stars Robert Redford and Bette Midler, US Vice President Al Gore, and US President Jimmy Carter.
